Waswad is one of the top contemporary artist in east africa,based in uganda he works in a variety of medium with an interest of experimenting and relating to different materials in his environment.the major source of inspiration is his immediate environment.he created a republic called ELEPHANIA with a language that he is now using to address political,social and economic issues in africa and worldwide,in otherwords he speaks ELEPHANISH.and believes that 50% of nature is completely animals be it insects or insects and the other part is plantlife,this is reflected in most of his work.
