WWW.GOULART.CH / VERA GOULART Born in RIO DE JANEIRO in 1954.Painter,designer,poet and performer artist. she is a selft-taught artist, began drawing 1967 and has been exhibiting regulary since the 1978 in collective and individual shows in galleries and museums, both in brazil and abroad . she currently divided her time between her studios in brazil and switzerland.
"Reality is the raw material for any fantasy , as it is for the artist production of vera goulart . her performers are components of a sophisticated mythological system in which the artist has been working for more than 30 years - a constant self- analysis , and exorcism of her own memories. these creatures populate a world in which pain is transformed into colours , and scars become explicit elements of physical construction . with names , pasts and individual lives , the society of the "shoe-ish" world is built in a theatre of puppepts to dramatise human existence- ( MARIO JARDIM- ARTIST and FILOSOFH)
