Biografia
My name is Upoma Das Trina. I was born and brought up in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Drawing has been like a passion to me since my childhood. Hence with my family’s full support and consent and in exchange of a lot of hard work I got admitted to Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University (department of drawing and painting) in 2008. I have finished my under graduation in 2013 from the department of drawing and painting and also have completed graduation/masters this year (2015) from the same department. Now I work as a freelance artist and I hope to achieve my goal which is to be an artist and contribute to the betterment of my country.
Basically I love to do oil paintings and apart form that I work on print media, video art and installion also.
At first I started my works portraying the difficulties of women only. But then I gradually started working related to the human conscience and tried to enlarge the radius of the conception.
I present myself as the model of my own painting because the perspective through which I see these hazards and the expression needed to express those sufferings can be portrayed correctly by me. I think this might not had been possible by other models. So I find it much more expressive to work with my own expressions.
Therefore, my works are not meant to present the aspects or the spiritualism of any religion only. In fact, it’s rather a fight between positivity and negativity of our society or surroundings where the nature plays the role of “positive support” to our positive thinking.
For my excellent result in graduation, my department selected me to go on an exchange program in Japan for a month. It was a pleasure working there at the University of Hokkaido and I am glad that I got an opportunity to showcase my talent and my paintings there.
Apart from that, I have participated in many national and group exhibitions and also have a number of upcoming exhibitions.
So I hope to pace up the speed of my good work and hope to achieve an unparalleled success through my hard works and dedication for my paintings.
