Infographic light installation is an interactive way of visually perceiving and exploring the differences between EU countries’ sizes and influences. It is a 200 sq. meter area covered in 28 tall swaying bouquets of light – each representing an EU member state. The size and height of each bouquet represents the size and population of one of the EU members. Population is key factor deciding country‘s voting capabilities in European Parliament and the EU Council. This infographic light installation is placed proportionally to the actual European map. 28 light bouquets are equal to 28 European union member states, 1 cm of bouquet tall is equal to 1500 sq. kilometers of state territory, 1 pole in a bouquet is equal to 549.680 citizens in state (or 0,11 % of votes in the council of EU). So bouquet of France based on this scheme is 4,5 meter tall and consists of 118 poles. Meanwhile Malta is 2 centimeters tall and consists only one pole.
