I am an artist: • Who believes making art is adding value. • Whose voice comes from an intimate and honest cultural point of view as much as an aesthetic vision. • Who explores life’s cyclical nature, the juxtaposition of the angle - the grid of our man-made quest for order with the supple and circular experience of my reality. • That believes the aged and deteriorating carry a defining, visceral beauty. • Whose ardent focuses include my lifelong fascination with Mother Nature and a devout attraction to decaying objects. • That uses the textures of “woman-made” and the disturbing honesty of feminine interruption, to expose our humanity. • Who tends to work in series’ that span decades adding fresh inspirations devoutly. • Who believes Art has the ability to “change outcomes,” and is passionate about being a catalyst for such change. • That is driven by process and materials as much as by inspiration and is a purist of sorts. I believe that the roots of my materials and processes must be authentic to the work. • Who uses drawing as my “visual vocabulary” and is essential to my daily practice but on occasion bursts into the mainstream of my body of work.
