In this issue I use shards of glass ( in the dialect spoken in Sant'Oreste , where I was born , they're called " Zinzi " ) and pieces of mirror to create little works with materials used in painting. I am not the first to use these materials , Lucio Fontana already in the fifties has created some beautiful works by inserting small pieces of colored Murano glass (eg Spatial Concept : the Moon in Venice in 1961) .
in the second half of 800, in the Throne Room of the Castle of Corigliano Calabro , was built by Ignatius Perricci Monopoly by the Hall of Mirrors, this masterpiece of decorative Baroque Neapolitan . The ceiling is painted with "trompe -l'oeil ", ie with an open outlook over a starry sky called the "stage of life." In the sky , deep blue , there were inserted small pieces of mirror to simulate the stars and I assure you that the effect is magnificent.
Who knows how many other artists have used pieces of mirror or glass fragments in the past and many more will do so in the future.
In the first part of this issue I have included fragments of mirror instead of the faces of politicians to mean that those people are merely mirrors made by the big lobbies ( "pressure groups " or " interest groups" that operate in favor of a additional " group" or association of persons , interfacing with politics) in front of our eyes to dazzle , to enchant them to us and then vote . They behave just like the " bait and switch " used by hunters to bait them break down more easily. For this reason, the title of the first work of this theme is " Political ... mirrors for the people ."
