The act of painting is the natural reaction to all the stimulations I receive both from inside
and from outside. It's the answer I made in response to my relationship with what surround
me, which i transform in an abstract composition. I speak of abstract composition because
when I've worked with figurative painting, I've found that it severely limits my
expressive/communicative response.
When I'm in front of a canvas, the act of painting is closely linked to a reflection. Also if
sometimes it seems action painting, I usually think a lot not only before, but also during the
process. Look and think seven time, paint one.
The meaning of art is both experimentation and diversion. I like to experiment with new or
unusual materials and try to overcome my limits and also the limits of the pictorial supports
and of the tools. I work well with mixed media, and I feel comfortable with the versatility of
oil. The encaustic painting has always been a technique I've worked with freedom and
pleasure.
I usually make my own media; I think that the creative process starts from the materials,
such as wood or a particular kind of cloth or a different mixing of plastic media, and so I
prepare my own canvas, my encaustic medium, my wooden frames and so on.
In this moment, I'm interested in playing with textures, trying to build an interdisciplinary
discourse in a finite surface. I've noticed that playing with depths, colors and shades, it
means playing with the sound, the musicality of this communicative code. So, while I paint,
I play music too.
