Someone To Love is Nuñez’s exhibition which was first shown at the Mois de la Photo in Montréal 2011 (“Lucidity. Inward Views”, curated by Anne-Marie Ninacs), with the generous support of the Consell Nacional de Cultura i de les Arts in Barcelona. Someone To Love was later shown in MS Galería in Madrid (april 2012) and at the gallery H2O in Barcelona (July-August 2012). The next venue will be Luova Gallery in Helsinki (October-December 2012). Someone To Love got over 2350 visitors at SKOL Centre des Arts Actuels in Montreal. The exhibition consists of over 200 images of different formats, on a two level installation to form a sort of “lifeline”, a diaporama and a video-interview. The images show for the first time a most of the self-portraits produced by the artist in 23 years since 1988, when she started to work with the camera to give herself an uncompromising gaze. This technique allowed her to create a very effective instrument to penetrate her deeper self and to ellaborate her method The Self Portrait Experience®. The method is intimately related to her artistic work: Nuñez considers that “the existing separation between art and therapy is intollerable.”
