These artworks represent my sensibility for endangered or haunted animals and my intention to involve the people in these themes in a very personal way: people give their own blood for the realization of double potraits with themselves, together with an animal. In other paintings or engravings there is my blood. My intention in using the blood is to give a dramatic emphasis to the pictures and together with the gold leaf it gives them sacredness and some symbolic references. In this way I put on the same level man and animal. They are both very important and the bloodshed of the animals is metaphorically equivalent to that of the men. this can be a provocation, but of course it wants to be an opportunity to think about us and about our role in the world.
