GENERATION, is the result of a collaboration with the inhabitants of Alaraz (Spain) who, acting as location managers and set designers, elected sites of mnemonic and narrative significance in their area, sites where some known event had taken place and formed part of the community’s collective memory.
These location manager-citizens got hold of the biggest tractor in the village and drove it along a route, which took in all the spots where it was remembered or believed that these events had taken place. Villagers of all ages spontaneously followed the tractor on its journey, furnishing accounts of these incidents with further detail, occasional misinformation or wildly modified versions of events that they had not even witnessed.
