Semordnilaps
Semordnilaps (Heteropalindrome) is words which, when reversed, are still valid words.
As an installation piece, the audiovisual piece will be consisted of a stereo interactive music with one channel video - a male dancer in a mask for visual with an interactive music. The first half and the second half of the audiovisual piece are in reversely bilateral symmetry while each track of musical instruments gets triggered when the decision of play type (forward or reversed sound) is made depending on the EEG data of the viewer (programmed in Max/MSP to read data from a wireless EEG sensor device called NeuroSky.)
When the piece can become a live performance, a live dancer can perform his/her own interpretation of the piece while the audiovisual piece is projected on the screen.
The visual contemporary dance symbolizes a striving living creations' life cycle and its desires to be free from the eternal recurrence - which seems impossible break out without the consent of a creator.
