Die Leiden des jungen J. 2 (the sudderings of the young J. 2)

Arranged in symbols of Christ's suffering there are six different screens connected with cables, illustrating a postmodern Cross without straining the traditional wooden-cross, the stake, the instrument of torture of a worldwide denomination. In fact the Crucified is floating on the screen as if he doesn't need the Cross anymore, because it is burnt as a symbol in our sub-conscious, like a hot iron in smouldering flesh. Each screen reflects a living body part of the Crucified and shows details of the filmed figure as a documentation of a segmented body.

The title of this video-installation is called "The Sufferings of the Young J 2", quoted by Goethe's story "Werther" who committed suicide due to unfulfilled love and been transferred the Son of God into the High-Tech-Resurrection of a non-spiritualized (and loveless?) time. An era affected by flat-screens, new animated illusions, repeating infinite-loops. The modern Christ still has to suffer as "eye for eye" and "tooth for tooth" still doesn't replace "if you get hit on the right cheek, offer your left one".
