My little friend

My first idea was to create a miserable and dark atmosphere in which scary old fart is giving tasty lollipop to a little child. At first everything was evolving according to plan, but after some time I noticed that my palette is running out of colors and to my surprise illustration became real bright! Viewer should puzzle out presented situation by themselves.
