La Pirula

La Pirula

Pittura, Figura umana, Olio, 110x120cm
The Pirula was a candy peddler for 5o years selling homemade sweets in the same corner of the streets in Tolosa
Always surrounded by his faithful dog and a group of children with only a few coins to spend.
This is the first painting of the project ENTRAÑABLES (Dearest), trying to make a tribute to the humble people who have done good things for others, and so are in the individual memory of each of their fellow citizens and the collective memory as a town.
La Pirula is placed in the street, in the same place where she spent most of her life.

I think that the most rewarding of this project is its usefulness as a transmitter of information to other generations. People who stands in front of the painting remember who was La Pirula first, then how were those times ,how people lived then, and most importantly ... if they have their daughter or grandson, nice, or … hold by the hand they tell them stories, stories of other times , how their olders lived... I think there are things that should not be forgotten.
Sorry if my English is not good enough.
