Crowd
Medium: wooden blocks (31 x 14 x 2.5 cm), house hold paint
Explanation: The work is ongoing and growing, and to date the piece consists of over 400 individual painted wooden blocks. The work morphs and adapts to engage with the environment in which it is placed; hung in the traditional sense on a wall forming a relief mosaic; placed as individual standing sculptural pieces; or used as component parts of installation constructions. The nature of the work is to be interactive and playful; the individual blocks are not fixed and can be moved around as if part of a game. Future projects also include large scale installations and projections onto buildings as well as large scale bill board reproductions- art for the public in a public space. The pieces are individually numbered and are sold as individuals, as a consequence the work is spreading over a large geographic area, across Europe and America; it is a part of the goal to have a member of the crowd on every continent.
