Mother Ships
My connection with my Iranian culture been stronger since I came to UK and the presence of Islamic culture could easily be traced in my paintings .
It has been hard to find a common ground between my worlds which usually resulted in feeling displaced as my two different realities interfered with one another.
I had a nostalgic series of painting with Iranian and Islamic themes but in most of my recent works I have been trying to combine my past influences with present interests and environments.
In this work I have managed to emerge them together which clearly gives me so much joy.
The mother ships are landing on a wound of displacements and disconnections to heal it.
