Ms. Understaning

This is a story of a tumultuous relationship that I was in. Written in text, digital still images, original sound, projection, and wrapped in an installation bow. I was mislead by my ex-lover to believe his mistreatment and verbal abuse was a misunderstanding on my part. The more I observed his behaviors that were contradictory to his words, the more I realized I had been right all along. I wrote the sound piece Dreams&Nightmares to go with the images in an effort to blur the lines between Photographer and Videographer. I didn't misunderstand anything, he really was bad for me and intended to cause me emotional pain. I took an artistic approach to resolving the psychological damage that he caused me. The images are projected onto a stained window that is suspended from the ceiling and has a free-standing base that sits underneath allowing 62 cm of emptiness between the two.
