Fetish Destruction n.16
In the series of artworks titled "Destruction" I imagined the final stage of the history of mankind as the result of a sort of erotic tension until the final explosion.
Mankind, in a "collective" way, turns its libido towards something different from both the reproductive organs and other parts of the body as in the case of traditional paraphilia.
This sort of global libido seems paradoxically directed towards destruction and self-destruction.
The apocalypse is interpreted as a sort of historical stage after the erotic satisfaction, a gigantic and monstrous post-coitum soon after the total annihilation.
Thus in the "Destruction" series the spectator will observe female feet that seem to tease giant atomic funguses, prosperous breasts, apotropaic gestures, scenes of devastation.
Mankind, globally, seems to forget the goal of its own erotic tension and, instead of abandoning itself to joyful voluptuousness, it ends up eroticizing the blind oppression of the other and mass self-destruction "Destruction n. 13"
