Fetish Destruction n.15

In the series of collages “Destruction” I metaphorically depict that sort of human passion for destruction (self-destruction sometimes) in terms of a real form of fetishism. I’ve chosen to face this theme by showing scenes of death or of destruction taken from newspapers or online magazines referring to actual wars or terroristic attacks. To interact with these scenes there are some female feet and legs. It’s possible to state that in these artworks you can appreciate an unusual form of contemporary representation and apocalyptic references. The strong Nihilism characterizing these pieces is mitigated by the irony and by the destabilising soft subjects.
The collage “Fetish Destruction #1” is essentially dominated by a pair of female legs above a blue-green backgroung “playing” with a nuclear explosion framed by a screenshot of a page of a computer programme. Female feet caressing the atomic “fungus” refers to a sort of a global weird desire oriented towards large-scale destruction.
