The Boat and The Sea

Challenging the perception of reality, I explore the hidden relations between visual documents of the human experience. Starting with collages of photographs gleaned from historical sources and everyday media,( in this case, images from Chinese civil war , contemporary diaspora and holiday elements) I look for the subtle associations that persist through time and space. I intend to recreate a world that is both familiar and yet at odds with our daily experience, questioning our relation to history, and how perceptions are constructed.
