Ana's Sadness

The source Image for this painting is an image of Ana -an eight-year-old girl from the amazing film “Cria Curevos” directed by Carlos Saura. The young girl is dealing with loss in a complex situation. She took my heart… I had to deal whith her deep despair and sadness. I found myself drawing a situation that reminded me the “Pieta” I didn’t want it at the beginning, I didn’t know how to depict the mother, eventually I decided to depict an unknown superhero instead.
