Broken Windows

In South Africa crime is a daily and often violent occurrence. Smash and grabs occur while people are still in their vehicle at a stop street or a red traffic light. Often victims don't have the time or the money to get the window fixed quickly so the make a DIY version. The socio-economic conflict are well highlighted in this image and it is a good representative of the violence and trauma that is inflicted, but also the hope and ingenuity that solutions can be found in difficult times.
