The Blue Camel

My submission for Streamers is over three cores. This is because I could not navigate the Celeste website and became confused. The three core pages are all related by "Zarafa", an illustration commission which started in August 2015. It was sent to me via a friend, who asked me if I would be interested, and then passed me the client's email address. It was an intriguing story about a true event involving the gifting of a live giraffe to the King of France, Charles X by Pasha Muhammad Ali of Egypt, in 1827. Whatever his political motives, Ali set in motion an extraordinary series of events, all of which are fair game for illustrating.
