The work examines the nature of the painterly support assuming it as a system of coordinates by equating such concept to the weave´s grid. In that way it becomes the central focus of artistic reflection and not simply a neutral and a a-historic enunciation platform. It also deals in a playful way with the byzantine platonic questioning of Painting´s validity as a means to pursue the truth in terms of the Mimesis. The black strip depicted in the work is both an illusion and a real object.
