My work is constantly changing. I rarely try to explain in detail what I do because I think putting specific words could put my painting in a specific concept and thereby stop my painterly evolution.
Nevertheless I understand the importance of explain you some big line that runs through my art.
I love the contrasts they are color, value, ideas, textures, quantity, ...
My themes turn around a form of melancholy youth. I think my generation grows up in abundance. All doors are open to us and we can do what we want in life, but this generation is paralyzed by a choice.
We are afraid to miss something. We want to live, to see everything. So we do not choose.
This no choice leave us in a continuous questioning, a form of melancholy because we know in ours hearts that the situation is blocked. So we try to live a false life through social networking and celebration but in this festive and colorful appearance hide a deeper problem linked to a sense of loneliness and a lack of benchmarks. we mask and lie to ourselves causing melancholy out of sight.
That's what I try to paint: a superficial beauty mask behind which hides a bugged mind in a perpetual questioning.
This general sad observation must be colored by contrast with the underlying depression. Is it not even more unfortunate to be sad when everything is “la vie en rose”?
In the way of working we find a tension. I extend a very constructed composition, thoughtful, careful, almost obsessive, perfectionist, even in the smallest anatomical details. Then I walked over a kind of idealization of the figure of the painting. In the traditional way of old master, I like to know the anatomy of the bones and muscles. Knowing color science and perceptive. Understand things better to better represent them.
But then I find myself stuck in this little room, and I am unsatisfied with my painting that seems too predictable and "small." We are bored. I then destroy my work, incorporating textures, arbitrary colors, dynamism, chance. Then I rebuild it. And I do all those cycles until I found my successful painting.
My favorite themes are related to this tension: the figures are the point of tension between idealization and destruction. The flesh and the faces seem "ideal", corresponding to a contemporary canon of beauty. But the body paint serve me represented the spirits. They are constantly destruction and reconstruction.
Time erase everything and this is where lies the true face of beauty: it is only temporary. A human life is beautiful and sad at the same time as there is an end. Life is full of new thoughts, Ideas, feelings.
I try to capture this ephemeral side of life by fixing my painting between youth and total destruction. A kind of freeze frame of a past life accelerated.
This is why I feed with my mind with visual bug of new media or otherwise known glitches.
I prefer the term "glitch" because nowadays some gamer community call bugs, if they can use it at their advantage: glitches.
Using myself visual bugs in my work. I prefer call them glitch therefore consider glitch.

Definition of the glitch:
- In video games: Trouble in a video game where a member has an unexpected behavior, which can be exploited to cheat.

- In computer: A glitch is a small failure, which should not occur, creating graphics artifact rendering on the screen. Most often, it is a random result of colors or replacing a pattern by other non-expected.
The glitch is a kind of data destruction creating random new images and new perceptions, in video Picture or games. I try to use to break limits of traditional painting and create new perception to describe my generation.
I like to projected glitch in the paint because I think it can help me in my search for a new form of painterly and representation too.
