Trinklieder (Canon)

The canon excerpt, from a series of improvised performances for string, resonator and amplified mouth-bit. The performer has a set of instructions, and positions the instrument so as to fit a wooden bit into his mouth -- the bit vibrates in his mouth cavity as he bows and plucks the string, according to the instructions given. Biting, he has restrained access to his stomach muscles, and can only make sounds at the upper and lower extremes of his vocal registers. The acoustic information he receives (as vibrations from the beer can resonator through its wooden mouth-bit) informs the improvisation. The whole video is mirrored with itself, resulting in the musical format of a canon.
