Disappearance and displacement carry within themselves absence while personal objects left behind create the sense of the absentee’s presence still.

It is a metaphysical experience that creates a desire to reconstruct a trascendental realm which is otherwise absent. Identifying our finite state effects all aspects of our experience, relegating it to a moment of presence. This, in turn, drives us to a constant awareness of the passing of time, for without time there would be no beginning or end.

There is another aspect of presence which is absence, the disappearance of what is known. It is not possible to imagine absence without reference to the principle of presence. There must exist an absence, something always and from the beginning, absent, missing or lost.

Using humour, cultural iconography, and inspired by street art. Executed often with a surrealist approach whether in acrylic, oil, markers, embroidery or pencils.
