Redefined by light Portrait 001 / cycle 02

Redefined by light project shows how light determines our perception of space and human being. The idea, which can be interpreted in a metaphorical sense, is presented on the series of photographs. My project is based on the etymology of the word „photography“ meaning drawing with light or recording light. By modelling the same space with different light I show it in two distinct ways. My main aim is to draw attention to the meaning of the phrase „Redefined by light“ and provoke people to think about the idea of defining an image by such a basic factor light is. The project creates a possibility to introduce a more universal reflection on how everyone of us is defined by the light we are exposed by. My other goal is to create the collection of photographs presenting the works of contemporary Polish fashion designers. Each edition of „Redefined by light“ project is the creation of two photographic cycles in the same space, presenting the same model. The only changing factor is the light and the model's dress. The inspiration for the change of light is the form of the dress worn by the model.
