We tend to relay our vision as an objektive tool. Rarely we question the information transmitted by our eyes. However, we dont see a direct representation of the external reality but a picture transformed by our eyes and mind. Vision has it's own physical characteristic and in addition to that we reflect our experiences, attitudes, values and emotions on everything what we see.
Instead of original images, inverted versions of them are to see in the work. The presented image correlates with the viewers resumption and expectations of the image. The reality reveals after a closer look but also the reflexion of the original image can be seen through an optic play. This optic illusion, „negative after image“ comes into being when the brain is too slow to process the stimulation given by the vision. Like sometimes time and closer familiarization might change our thoughts too.
Our social environment often gives as pattern how to think about several things even before we are able to make our own experiments. No one is free from the external impacts. Everyones eyes are prejudiced. This emerges practically in the work when the expected image turns out to be something else. The work makes the viewer to consider his/her way of percepting and forming the reality. At the same time it asks, if the reality is only a total of facts, in which we tend to believe in.
