War Paint

War Paint is a photographic essay of women dealing with the emotional challenge of growing older in society. The images were taken in the woman's personal spaces, where they preform their daily ritual of applying cosmetics. Each model was between the ages of 40 and 90. The project is meant to ask the question, why are women judged so heavily on their youthful beauty and less on their accomplishments and wisdom.
