Golden Mary
This work stands for unrestricted greed, ruthlessness and loss of trust.
The halo surrounds the corona and globus only - the essential (the cross, the spiritual) is not covered. The madonna's face is blackened such that it is barely recognizable; and in contrast to traditional iconography the clothing is colored red, and apears to be made from stock market reports. In lieu of a scepter she holds an automatic rifle as symbol of power and violence. The rifle is treated with phosphorizing paint and glows in the dark.
The Jesus child is blinded by a black bar symbolizing the ignorance of the victim. It wears a blue loincloth, color of innocence. Marks of fire indicate abuse, which starts already by thoughts.
The figure is mounted on a raw wood block covered with metal sheet. On front an "Ad-voto-heart" is nailed, perforated with pins - a symbol for cold heartedness.
