This is a life size painting of a horse I bought in Spain 3 years ago. He has great presence and I had been thinking of him for a while before starting the painting. It came together quite fast and I had to trust myself not to change it or work on it after it was done. It feels like a moment I was hoping for - a moment of being 'open to the unbidden'
