Rust flaunts - fungus grow
„Rust flaunts – fungus grow” is a painting in the form of contemporary fine art telling a story on the micro and the macro world. The painting is a proclamation of two permanent elements that as a result of indirect synthesis create a harmony wrapped in secrets.
With the triptych „Rust flaunts – fungus grow” I would like to draw the attention to the link between things, events and activities. Networks and connections are part of everything, even if sometimes might not be visible to a naked eye, it still exists and affects us. During the making of the piece, I looked at two natural phenomena – heat lightning (lightning without sound) and fungus mycelium which structure and behavior is still mysterious. What proved to be the most unusual aspect was the open relationship between fungi and the rust. During the lightning the fungal spores begin to be more proactive, so that mushrooms begin to grow much quicker. For scientists such discovery is still at its peak.
Overall, the painting is a very contrasting, because it reflects the delicate and fragile threads between layers of mycelium, in contrast to the great sky above the horizon for the rust. It mimics the natural phenomena in personal perspective, because I would like to say much more, to conjure up the idea about energy flow.
