Not Like Before

After a bad day at work, Alan came home and turned on the news. What he saw was so terrible and on such a huge scale that he couldn’t get his head around it. While a hero might have donned a costume of brightly coloured material and gone out to make a difference in the world, Alan knew that would be futile. He bolted the front door and drew the curtains and promised himself he would never leave the house again. He made his costume out of the most basic material he had to hand, and set to work doing nothing and aspiring to nothing.
