By the Numbers
A self portrait by numbers. Each number discloses a piece of information and is the mechanism for building up the portrait.
Tightly cropping the face and using black and white flickering television lines helps create a 'Big Brother' look, similar in to the large screens used in Michael Radford's 1984 film adaptation of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. The austere and impersonal broadcast appearance of the image and delivery of the dialogue is in direct contrast and contradiction to the deeply personal disclosures made in the audio.
