Mazdaznan

Written by Severiano Martinez. Performed by Sejayno ft. Ayako Kataoka

Mazdaznan is a syncretistic religious health movement based on Zoroastrian and Christian ideas with special focus on breathing exercises, vegetarian diet and body culture. It was founded at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century by Otoman Zar-Adusht Ha'nish, born Otto Hanisch. The word Mazdaznan derives from the Persian "Mazda" and "Znan", and is supposed to mean "master thought".

The Mazda car corporation coincides with the anglicized pronunciation of the founder's name, Jujiro Matsuda, who was interested in spirituality, and chose to rename the firm in honor of both his family and Zoroastrianism. The word Mazda derives from Ahura Mazda, the Avestan language name for a divinity exalted by the ancient Iranian prophet Zoroaster, as the source of wisdom, intelligence and harmony.

I am re-contextualizing "Mazda"for your associative brain. Strip brand names away from companies, and back into the illuminated catalog.
