OUTGOING SOUNDS
Pictures and symbols scraped and engraved on cave walls, stones and rocks have today been transformed into alphabets of our languages at the end of their adventure of hundreds of years. The human being has used various different stamps sometimes in order to document his wealth, sometimes to leave his trace on an object he uses, and sometimes to explain and describe his ancestry to next generations. May it be to leave his trace to the future, or may it be to say “We were here”. Whatever their reasons or motives were, today we are chasing up their traces in order to learn the secrets of the past.
Sumerians have created a memory consisting of hundreds of clay tablets. They are speaking to us from ancient times. Today we are storing information in computer, virtual media, CD, memory card, etc. digital tablets. Storage tools develop in line with technology.
Sounds and stamps of the past, together with disk tablets no more used by us, constitute the Outgoing Sounds series.
