Untitled (Hand Towel)

I have embarked upon a series of objects, with more in the works, related to 9/11. In the case of the embroidered piece, it is an illustrator drawing that I made from compiling various photographs of the lower Manhattan skyline, with an airplane, taken from the Internet. I printed out images, and traced parts from different pictures onto parchment with a heat transfer pencil, and then hand embroidered the towel. I have several consumer objects planned that I will have professionally manufactured, but for these images I was specifically interested in exploring a mixture of technology and craft to create the pieces.
