In The Bath

Through abstract, painterly mark-making I am attempting to show the turbulence and depth of thought that exists behind a still or introspective figure. 'In the Bath' is part of a series where I used the TV's pause feature and painted from commercials, shows, and movies I watched on the TV. This allowed me to capture moments of quit contemplation. 'In the Bath' came from a screenshot from the movie 'Amelie'. The blurry screenshot allowed for artistic licence in over-saturating the colours and exaggerating the shapes.
