Peacock Nymphalidae

My photographic images are ephemeral tableaux that are meant to evoke the inner psyche and reveal hidden beauty in organic matter. My work explores the underlying codes of visual signals and structure of living organisms. My fabricated color constructions of organic life forms give a new contemporary interpretation of the theme, Memento Mori, often seen in 17th century Dutch paintings. The inherent decay of organic matter reminds the viewer of the evanescence of life.
