To the Sea

This video work shows two sequences. In one sequence, the artist impersonates his grandfather, and in another sequence, the artist talks about the sea as himself. While taking Human torpedo, Merman and Siren up as motifs, He attempts to share his grandfather’s war experience with his body performance. However, as we can’t catch the monster in the deep sea, he noticed that he never be able to understand his grandfather’s experience. If anything, how we react to the non-understandable experience is crucially important for us.
