Vasos Sanquíneos / Blood Vessels

This work is a conceptual image I titled “Blood Vessels”. It is about internal problems with eye pressure. After experiencing a number of strange symptoms such as sparkling lights, red and blue X’s, dark dots and crystal worms during a period of four months on the visual field, I woke up one morning with this patch, a round semi-transparent shade that changed in color and texture, similar to a kaleidoscope, blocking the center of my field of vision in my right eye. It was the final effect of a retinal detachment. During that month, before getting the reconstructive eye surgery done, I had a number of dreams in which I perceived a number of strange effects soon after I felt sleep, I could see a number of intricate flying dark dots engulf with a number of roundish and transparent disks from which a number of cords, that looked like human veins were tangled around in constant motion around the dark like sphere. They were like living creatures with minds of their own posed on an open space that resembled the horizon, a place between the sky and the ocean.
