Beatrice

'Beatrice' is based on a number of photos and photoalbum which I found in the local market. It was sad to see a whole personal history left behind in boxes sold for a few pounds. I got them all and this painting is the first of a series based on my own interpretation on the found photos. I have made it slightly disturbing as I started to think how she was like since no one took care of all the photos she left behind. That is s also the reason for painting the portrait on two canvasses devided in the middle, a dramatic gesture to underline a, perhaps, dark family history.
