Duh
| DUH | is a 16mm 3:30 minutes film which is built with an OPTICAL Printing technique.
This film was created in 2008 as an out come of my FrameX film scholarship in Canada. Due to the age, many images are lost during the transformation from 16mm to HD video.
Visually, the abstract structure was build by a "surprise mistake". I was testing with an old fashion animation stand with a puppet I made for another project. I forgot to put on a plate which balances the light underneath. Once I developed the testing film in dark room, it was a surprise to see the figure prints around the puppet figure created an interesting animated motion. I took this surprise further to exam more ready made images and film slides.
The audio came after as a narration about this artful and abstract discovery. It attempts to create a poetic sense which something unknowingly appeared to us, and we as a receiver to be amused and at the same time laughing about it.
