Melting Angel

We are told that angels are the iconic images of goodness and purity. This angel came too close to earth; perhaps out of curiosity or perhaps out of empathy for mankind. As she came closer and closer, she became more and more engulfed by all human suffering ... until emotional pollution struck her like the eternal fires of hell and she started melting ... dripping like wax ... slowly merging with the soil of the earth.
There is no known point to this story, except perhaps that man made suffering and emotional outbursts of hate and revenge make us slaves to ourselves/our emotions and that forgiveness, even if it is not deserved, may give us internal peace ... if nothing else.
