Wall # 1

I am interested in materiality and in my practice I investigate the tension between the physical aspect of the world and the ephemeral notion of time through the use materials that are in a state of flux and affected by changes in the environment. Most of my work explores ideas of transformation and change through materials’ processes. Wall # 1 is part of a series of images titled Case Sventrate (Gutted Houses) where I explore those concepts through the photographic medium. By revealing the interior wall of a knocked down building taken out of context, the power and vulnerability of the process is exposed. The suspended wall becomes at once interior and facade acquiring an eerie sense of sacrality.
