Small Memory no 15 (Not to the pool)

No 15, titled "Not to the pool", from the ongoing sequence "Small Memories" (since the end of 2010). Just like our brain continuously rediscovers en rewrites our experiences, Leonard reviews memories that are still present, layer after layer after layer, in a mixed technique of drawing and painting. In "Not to the pool" he used pencil, pastel, ink, gesso, synthetic resin, acrylic paint and clear lacquer on linnen canvas (partly) on wood. Leonard wants to save stories, as blurred and transformed as they appear, before they will become forgotten. By zooming in on his perishable existence, he also evokes enduring recognition. One gets to know mankind by looking at a scrapbook of memories.
