Tablebench
The object for the Brancoplein consists of a massive stone tabletop surrounded by a bench in the approximate shape of a figure eight. The tabletop also forms a backrest so that you can sit either with your legs under the table or facing outward with your back agains the edge. At the narrow end of the table two people can sit opposite eachother, for instance to play a game of chess, while the wider parts of the table can be used by a larger group. The shape of the tabletop also enables you to choose a place in which to connect with and face eachother, in an inside bend, or facing outward. The tabletop will be inscribed inconspicuously with first names. These are names common to the area and will of course also feature the first name of Branco van Dantzig after whom the square was named.
