Luminanze - Luminances

Realizzo le Luminanze con pennelli, supporti di polistirolo e diluente. Il diluente scioglie il polistirolo, solcandolo secondo le pressioni date alle pennellate. Pennelli, medium corrosivo, supporti corruttibili, gestualità, grafìe influenzate dall’intensità e velocità dei tratti e dalle variazioni di pronuncia dei Gesti. I risultati sono *anche* plastici. Lavoro sul piano, retrocedendolo: l’approccio è frontale con mezzi e forma mentis del Pittore. Ho rinunciato al colore ma non ai moventi che lo generano. Le Luminanze hanno in sé solo relazioni tonali, espresse con un linguaggio esclusivamente segnico fatto d'ombre e luci. Racconto la Pittura con una pittura muta, senza pigmenti e traducendo in spazio quelle linee che sono occultate nella materia. Con le Luminanze voglio dimostrare che i Princìpi della Pittura sovrastano le tecniche e ne sono indipendenti. Desaturo l’ambiente dal surplus degli eventi visivi, evidenziando il percorso mentale delle linee che modulano l'una verso l'altra con cadenze antimateriche, senza le inferenze del colore e a caccia della Luce.

My Luminances are made with paintbrushes and diluent on polystyrene. While melting polystyrene, diluent ploughs it at different depths according to the pressure of the brush-strokes. Paintbrushes, corrosive medium, corruptive supports, gestural expressiveness, writings affected by strokes’ intensity and swiftness and by the varying pronunciation of gestures. The outcomes are plastic, *too*. I work on the surface, moving it back: the approach is frontal and avails itself of Painter’s tools and cast of mind. I abandoned colour but not its motives. Luminances hold just tonal relations, expressed by a language of signs only, consisting of shadows and lights. I tell Painting through a mute painting, deprived of pigments, and traducing in space the lines concealed in substance. Through Luminances I want to show that Painting’s Principles are unrelated with techniques and overcome them. I desaturate the environment of visual events’ excess, highlighting the mental course of the lines, which modulate themselves from one to another with antimateric cadences, without any colour inference and in chase for light.
