Verse

Religion both crosses and creates boundaries, professes peace and yet begets so much violence. There is a verse at the beginning of the Bible that has been printed in over 1000 languages. I start to think about the universality of computer language in relation to religion and the lullabies that we hear as children. Images from SpellBook explore the idea of a book as receptacle for knowledge and memory but also as an artifact, a repository for deconstructed marks. They also explore the translation of image to language and language to computer code as well as picture writing as a means of divination and its relation to myth magic and religion.
